Parliament's Rules of Procedures to be debated on Tuesday

Skopje, 6 September 2010 (MIA) - MPs will debate changes to the Rules of Procedures at Tuesday's plenary session. This was agreed at a coordination meeting on Monday with Parliament Speaker Trajko Veljanoski, which was attended by representatives of opposition parties following a weeks-long boycott.

It was agreed the opposition as well to propose items on the agenda every second plenary session. SDSM's request involving the establishment of special committee controlling budget expenditures was not discussed at the meeting, VMRO-DPMNE deputies said.

Parliament's Rules of Procedures will be the first item on tomorrow's agenda.

Parliament's majority and opposition have failed to agree in terms of the changes to the Rules of Procedures, which was seen by the international community as a setback in political dialogue ahead of the upcoming annual EC report on Macedonia. SDSM leader Branko Crvenkovski last week said his party after withdrawing its requests involving the Rules of Procedures would accept it as proposed by the ruling majority. VMRO-DPMNE said Crvenkovksi and his "calculated actions" were to blame for the disagreements over the Rules of Procedures.
