The legendary singer of British rock band Queen Freddie Mercury got a street in the suburbs of London where he lived as a teenager. Local authorities in the Shelton neighborhood have agreed part of Hanover Road to be named "Freddie Mercury Clouse" and the late singer's sister attended the ceremony, Reuters reported.

.

The singer's family lived just minutes from the street that bears his name and in 2016 his memorial plaque was set. They moved to the outskirts of London, fleeing the revolution in Zanzibar in 1964.

Mercury, 45, died of AIDS-induced complications in 1991. The charity, Mercury Phoenix Trust, founded after his death, has been supporting HIV and AIDS projects around the world.
