Strong winds hit Skopje last night, and according to some photos on social networks, roofs of buildings and trees were broken.

"Blocked Partizanska street in Karposh 4 near Palma, be careful," citizens commented on Facebook.

Skopje Mayor Petre Shilegov informed on his Facebook profile that city services have begun repairing and providing access to the city. He appealed to citizens to be careful about security.

"It is expected that the strong wind blowing in the city will at times reach and blow over 70km / h. The teams are already out on the field and we started removing the flying roofs and fallen trees. I ask you, each and every one, to take care, first and foremost, of your own safety and that of other people and property. The situation is being monitored and appropriate measures are being taken, "Shilegov wrote.

Karposh Mayor Stefan Bogoev has also posted on Facebook.

"As a result of strong winds, roof surfaces of several buildings across Karpos have been removed.

All our utilities go out on the ground to deal with the storm, "Bogoev wrote.
