Croatia has confirmed the first case of corona virus COVID-19 in the country.

"It is a younger man who is housed at the Infectious Diseases Clinic in Zagreb," said Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic.

He added that the infected person is in good health.

"Today we received the results for a Croatian national who was staying in Milan from 19 to 21 February. He showed mild symptoms of the disease. We are taking all necessary measures and the health authorities are focusing on the persons he was in contact with, "Plenkovic said.

Nine more people are being tested in Rijeka who were hospitalized after returning from Italy. The director of the Clinical Center there said that one of them was placed in isolation.
